Architecture MA (Hons) graduate from the University of Edinburgh School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture.

Xindi Su | Edinburgh College of Art Graduate Showcase | 2026

As Alison and Peter Smithson once said, “We see architecture as a direct result of a way of life”, and for me, this remains the
most authentic definition of architecture, where a design response holds an inherent ability to shape, drive change and facilitate
society, by addressing the user, context and the environment. My personal philosophy is representative of how the temporal
dimension of the city influences the contemporary, where drawings speak from the urban scale down to the human scale,
simultaneously transitioning from the holistic to the detail, yet derived from an overarching idea.

I believe architecture remains driven by values of the importance of the human within delivering an architectural response,
as I believe the inherent ability of architecture shapes, drive change and facilitates the societal environment. Prioritizing social
engagement is engrained with the very nature of the profession when forming people's lives, and I embrace a mindset where
engaging with context through creativity remains a frontal value in crafting a response. Additionally, I believe the best approaches
are formed through the very nature of collaboration and communication with like-minded, creative and dedicated people that are
eager to deliver the best, yet human response to solving societal issues through architecture.

I place huge emphasis on prioritizing the ability to cultivate cultures of sustainable innovation, pivotal when navigating and
devising adaptive solutions beyond conventional paradigms in the face of issues, creating buildings that are reflective of the user,
context and climate. My passion for crafting atmosphere, community and social structures facilitates cultures that drives for
engagement with stakeholders, through voluntary projects abroad, developing my unique, ambitious mindset to be able to thrive
in projects that require innovation and creativity when facing demanding, contemporary needs that arise through society.
